RACISM AMIDST UKRAINE INVASION

According to the FRANCE 24 news the Russian and Ukraine war which began on the 24th of February 2022 had raised concerns on  countries including the African countries.Some of the African countries also tried to get involved by telling the Russian president Putin to end the war he had started.However all the Africans were not happy seeing the Ukrainian authorities discriminating the blacks and mistreating them.Some were even pulled out of their seats at the Lviv train station in the western Ukraine so that the Whites can take the seats.

The Ukrainian soldiers were seen being violent to the blacks and went further accusing them of being on Russian's side .They were denied food and water or transportation,they had to walk for hours on empty stomachs.According to FRANCE 24's Mehdi CHEBIL, FRANCE 24 met several African students who say they were pushed back at the Medyka border crossing with Poland. The Nigerian ambassador reached out and asked  Ukraine to stop treating their people differently because of their skin color since they were all innocent.Only one Kenyan managed to fly back into the country while 74 were given access to Poland and 2 to  Hungary.

South Africa also expressed alarm when they heard that their people were being mistreated. The AU released an official statement condemning racial discrimination in Ukraine and along Ukraine's border.The UN on the other hand has called on the authorities to treat all people equally and  with the respect they deserve.They should provide the same assistance with the same speed to everyone.
